19 countries can enjoy free Vietnam visa at the end of this year
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) apparently proposes providing Vietnam visa waivers for more countries. Therefore, foreign arrivals in the last three months of the year are highly expected to a new surge.
Mr.Nguyen Van Tuan – known as agency director, express his view in a recent report on the government website that there lie in "signs of recovery" for tourism sector.
Fluctuation in tourist traffics for July, August and September were all higher than the corresponding months last year, ending 13 months of declines, including a drastically plunge on 23.4 percent in March.
“In term of this vitality, we hopefully expect that the market could be bounced back,” said Director Tuan.
As announcement, Mr.Tuan also proclaimed that his agency is proposing a visa exemption for passport holders from 19 new markets, regardless of name checking, also providing any timeframe.
The industry has been given a boost thanks to the recent visa waiver policy for tourists from Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Spain and Belarus.
Visa requirements have been waived for visitors from Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
The government has also approved Viet Kieu (overseas Vietnamese), their foreign spouses and children to visit Vietnam without a Vietnam visa. More than 4.5 million Vietnamese are working and living outside Vietnam, according to official datas. See updated policy.
