Hoi An ranked 8th in Top 10 Asian cities
Hoi An ancient town has recently been ranked 8th in the Top 10 Cities in Asia as voted by well-known American tourism magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
The other cities including Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kyoto, Singapore, Chang Mai, Ubud, Tokyo, Shanghai and Luong Prabang. They have been voted by the magazine’s worldwide readers under the criteria of ambience, friendliness, lodging, restaurants, culture and shopping.
In 1999 UNESCO declared the ancient town of Hoi An a world heritage site for being a well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port in the 15th to 19th centuries, and having buildings with a unique blend of local and foreign influences.
The town has several relics bearing the hallmark of Japan like the three Japanese tombs and the Cau Pagoda, an important symbol of Hoi An.
